A new era for FC Torrevieja
FC Torrevieja players have at last received the first instalment in three months worth of unpaid salaries and are understandably reported to be “happy and delighted”.
It almost didn’t happen when a delay in the bank clearing system put a spanner in the works but then Pete Johnson of new owners SAMM Inc took matters into his own hands and arrived in person to pay the players.
Peter Fulford, CEO of the company has also pledged that all unpaid salaries will be met by the end of the month.
Since buying the club in January the CEO has made it a priority to bring outstanding matters up to date so that the players and management can concentrate on the football from now on.
The new owners have also set out their plans for the future development of the club, including the sourcing of local players, whilst admitting that foreign players will be drafted in initially in a bid for promotion next season.
FC Torrevieja website is currently requesting feedback from fans about any changes that they would like to see implemented to take them forward under Director of Football, ex-Hammers winger Tommy Taylor.
