Dani Pacheco makes his mark
The 19-year-old Spaniard made his mark in the Unirea game last week when he played his part in the only goal of the match and helped to establish a first-leg lead.
This was only his third outing for the first team and although he has yet to be in the starting line up it’s surely just a matter of time before that all changes.
Pacheco has been vocal in expressing his wish to score goals for his team, particularly at the Kop end, and says that he sometimes finds it difficult to keep his feelings under control when playing in such an intense atmosphere.
“There is a passion you feel while playing at Anfield. It’s not easy to handle all that,” “When I realised my appearances were all attacking the Kop it made it even more special for me. It would be amazing to score in that net. The sound is great and I was tempted to stop and look up at the stand.”
Pacheco’s energy and enthusiasm clearly affected Liverpool’s play when he came on to replace Aquilani after 75 minutes as up until then it looked as though we were heading for a goalless draw.
Judging by the ovation he was given when coming on to the pitch Pacheco has already won over the fans and could be the one to watch for the forthcoming season.
